San Diego Restaurant Week Review:
The Red Door

While some people use restaurant week as an excuse to go to their favorite restaurant, I always use it as an excuse to try a new one. The Red Door isn’t new to San Diego though, it opened its doors in Mission Hills 2 ½ years ago and has been receiving enthusiastic reviews ever since.

Love Connection

I was a lucky gal to attend the class Love Connection: Gourmet Mac and Pinot Noir as part of this year’s San Diego Bay Food and Wine Festival.  I’m from Wisconsin and I love me some mac ‘n’ cheese.  Chef Rich Sweeney of R Gang Eatery presented, taught, and cooked us this comfort food three ways.  He also charmed us with his wit and jovial personality.  Anglim Winery was also present for the class, pairing each mac dish with two different pinot noirs.  …

Once you know the name Carl Schroeder, you might have expectations too. He is the Executive Chef at Market and was honored with the James Beard award (the Oscars of the food world) and featured in the likes of Bon Apetit and Gourmet magazines, and the …
